The Catholic Mass is also misrepresented as being a "new sacrifice" of Jesus Christ. That is, at Mass, Jesus is "re-sacrificed." Mass is NOT a "new" Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The Roman Catholic Church teaches Mass is Jesus "one-time" bloody sacrifice "made present" in an unbloody manner. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches: 1366. "The Eucharist is thus a sacrifice because it re-presents (makes present) the sacrifice of the cross, because it is its memorial and because it applies its fruit: (Christ), our Lord and God, was once and for all to offer himself to God the Father by his death on the altar of the cross, to accomplish there an everlasting redemption. But because his priesthood was not to end with his death, at the Last Supper 'on the night when he was betrayed,' (he wanted) to leave to his beloved spouse the Church a visible sacrifice (as the nature of man demands) by which the bloody sacrifice which he was to accomplish once for all on the cross would be re-presented, its memory perpetuated until the end of the world, and its salutary power be applied to the forgiveness of the sins we daily commit.[Council of Trent (1562): DS 1740; cf. 1 Cor 11:23; Heb 7:24, 27.]"

Is it also true the Roman Catholic Church teaches at Mass, at the consecration of bread and wine, these gifts, through the power of the Holy Spirit, become the actual Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ? Yes, this is an official teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. The Roman Catholic Mass is Jesus "one-time" bloody Sacrifice made present in an unbloody manner. Jesus, who commanded the 12 apostles at the Last Supper to "make present" His sacrifice until He comes again, gives Himself to us as the "Lamb of God" under the species of Bread and Wine from that "one-time" sacrifice. Jesus, our Lamb of God, tells us: John 6 54. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. (KJV) The Exodus Passover in the Old Covenant is a pre-figurement of the New Covenant with Jesus as our Passover Lamb who is received whole and entire under the consecrated species of bread and wine when His "one-time" bloody sacrifice is made present in an unbloody manner. St. Paul tells us: 1Corinthians 5:7-8 7. Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth." (KJV) 1Corinthians 10 16. The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? (KJV)
